Thanks Toby Keith for the original question! For many of us immigrants living in developing countries, which once seemed so kind, sweet, with Governments, which appears to be harmless, the relaxed banking rules, affordable health care, oppressive bureaucracy that we usually buy our way around, but most of all: peace and economic security, the times may be changing sooner or later – and sooner rather than later. It was such factors as those which played a major role in many of us bring to Latin America, appear to be new life for themselves outside of the pravic?ch of capitalist zone in the North. We had many options among countries such as Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia and Venezuela. Let us has with the last two, because it appears to be the least favourable options bunch. Colombia, with its 50 + year civil war, certainly has its attractions. The city of Cartagena and Cali offers some of the best cultural experiences of the country has to offer, but they are mixed in with the horrific crimes and permanent public insecurity. Bogota also offers a lot of history and a lot of violence, together with its beautiful climate. But overall the only emigrants, that there is a corporate graft or by itinerant tradesmen, those highly advertised seminars offers you everything from complete goldmines highly profitable coffee and livestock investment, which of course will multiply your happiness while the dispute with the FARC, the army, paramilitary thugs, narco-traffickers and common criminals, usually referred to as the underprivileged class.Venezuela is equally sad chapter to the "Bolivarian Government of Latin America, the price of the clown in Chief, President Hugo Ch?vez played the populist supporters by ma??c?m sustainable trade and silencing critics and opposition. The election is approaching, and with the medical sources said that Chavez will succumb to his cancer a year, Venezuela's long-term recovery is based on the wishes of the next administration on the monumental task of undoing the damage Ch?vez ' social experiment. It will be billions to pay for illegal nationalization of several foreign ownership of industry and the regularization of land titles, which the Supreme Court just threw into utter chaos p?epracov?v?no squatters legally occupy the "unused" land. That is, if it's where you want to go, I'm sure that a few of the friendly English-speaking agents are willing to sell the land to the new national Caribbean Islands.Ecuador is currently oversaturated with real estate marketing to sell you on the idea of a cheap lifestyle, but it is mainly the Government at the time, which were afraid of me. It's about as stable as the Etawah, after the earthquake, while Peru, also located on the list of recommended has yet to prove itself as the last successful experiment on the continent in social democracy. Then there is, of course, Chile, most capitalist friendly nation in South America, with the President, which is an example of what the neoliberal "may in the country that only recently has undergone so much pain and suffering under the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. It is a country in Latin America with the most unequal income distribution. Add to that the large indigenous population Mapuche "Indians," robbed of mass signature murdering dictator Augusto Pinochet millions of hectares of land of their ancestors, much of it is now in the hands of large multinational corporations. Chile's Government continue to use these Pinochet-era anti-terrorism laws to sanction the Mapuches, many of whom are languishing in prisons in Chile without the right to a fair trial. There are areas in southern Chile, where violence has been rising, with the Mapuche of arson attacks on logging, farm and agricultural land and the continuing armed clashes with the police. The problem is that the titles to these countries are not only dubious, they are bloody. Buyer beware! The Argentine history back full circle, with their usual incompetent and corrupt leadership through new rules and regulations on a daily basis. For those of you in Spanish, can I recommend checking out the Official Gazette to get even a slight understanding how this Government sneaks by citizens? Inflation is currently 24%, and Argentina, as well as in the rest of Latin America, is quickly falling to the cartoon will be ruin. euro-zone a, where it will be. Brazil, out of spite naïve technocrat believes its leader, Dilma Rousseff, you will not be able to avoid a similar fate, and all immigrants to live high in S?o Paulo will be looking at the heavy change adjustments. So back to the original question: where did you go when the path lead? Let us hope that in the meantime it will be to get yourself a few hectares, made friends with neighbors and are able to take care of myself, having stocked up on Staples they can't produce. Maybe Idaho ... wilderness of Canada ... Finland? Who knows, but I'll see you there!
